Kobe was born on February 23,1978 in Philadelphia(费城). He started basketball at the young age of 6. Kobe’s dad Joe played in the NBA for several years and coached his son‘s team to a state championship when he was just six years old. In high school, Kobes average was 40 points per game (ppg) but he did not get any serious recruiting calls from major universities. So instead he decided to go with more obscure Calabasas High School and play under coach Paul Parilla who would later become head coach at UCLA. With Coach Parila's help, kobe became very competitive and won two league championships and one California state title during his four-year varsity career. He also gained national recognition as USA Today named him its National Player of the Year after his senior season.

From then on,he never looked back. He won two more titles with Los Angeles before moving on to Italy to finish out his playing days where he won another title with Milan. When he finally retired in 2016, he had spent twenty seasons with the same franchise, which is certainly unheard of these days.

All told, Kobe averaged 25 pts, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.7 assists over his 20-year career, while shooting an impressive 44 percent from the field and 35 percent from three-point range. His numbers are even more impressive when you consider how much longer he played than most of his peers. In fact, if
